NOW OFFERING SPRING BEAR HUNTS OVER BAIT

Now offering the rare spring bear hunt in Maine on Penobscot Indian Land. Only 8 positions available. 4 hunters per guide. Fully guide controlled hunt. We take you to the stand, drop you off, and come back to the stand and pick you up. Three meals a day, cabin, linens, full us of our facilities. 2012 price is $2100, $600 deposit. Last week in May. Arrive on Sunday hunt monday thru Saturday, leave the next sunday. A Maine hunting license is not required for this hunt only.  2010 100% success. 2011 Hunt is over.  We were able to offer 15 permits this year 2012. All but one hunter had opportunity. MAINE BLACK BEAR OVER BAIT (FALL)

Our Maine bears hunts are over bait and are in areas where no other guides hunt. All bear hunters are put on our most active baits. Camp Wapiti’s bear kill ratio runs as high or higher than any camp in the State.

We take a limited number of bear hunters each year. 2008 our season went very well, with some bears over 300lbs. Our 2009 season we had 30 hunters and took 20 bears. 2010 all but 2 hunters had shooting opportunities.  Our largest was #365 with quite a few more over #200. These are completely guide control bear hunts, they stay in the area and pick you up bringing you back to camp for a delicious home cooked meal. We provide complete transportation to and from the bait sites, removal of the bear from the woods, field dressing, and a scale and pole to hang the bear on.

MAINE BLACK BEAR HUNTS WITH HOUNDS

After our 3 weeks of bear over bait, we run hounds for two weeks off from active bait sites. We are taking limited numbers so we can guarantee one hunter per one guide. When you book a hound hunt with us you will have your whole week in which to harvest a bear. We provide full transportation, meals, and lodging. We have a huge area in which to hunt so there is no worry of crossing private land. Hound hunting is an active, high energy day. Call and book your hunt today.

In 2010 we are happy to say that our hunter Randy Souza shot a bear that dressed out at an even #500 lbs which would have put him easily over 560 -570lbs live weight, making him one of the largest bears taken in the state of Maine in the 2010 season.

Price for 2012/2013 for the hound hunt is $2000 for adult hunter. Call for adult/child combo price.

There is Fishing available during the day (with a license) right on our lake (stocked with Trout by the state).
The cabins are rustic and very comfortable, with all of your linens fully provided. Non hunting family members welcome. Electricity and bathrooms in each cabin.

$550 for a non hunter is the all inclusive price for any of the hunting weeks.

All our bear hunts are full 6-day hunts. Our week runs from Sunday to Sunday. Maine law prohibits Sunday hunting.

RATES 2012 for bear over bait fall hunt

$1500 a week per person, includes guide and transportation to your stand, cabin and all meals. Jr hunter 16 and younger are $1150. We encourage jr hunters, they are our future.

Deposit of $500.00 is required. non-refundable. Price does not include tax or gratuities.
